I woke up this morning to a notification that someone had liked my substack post (thanks Mel). The thing was I hadn't actually written a substack post. I had put a placeholder in when I created my page about a month ago. I had, in an attempt to threaten myself with announcing it to the world, shared that I intended to create a substack, and I even circled in red "coming soon." Since then I have done exactly nothing except think A LOT about how I don't know what to write. The spooky thing is, Happy Halloween by the way, I just finished a writer's retreat yesterday. So on today's episode I talk a little bit about naming ourselves, showing up in spaces that we feel like we don't belong and finding out that we do. And realizing that the reason that you think you're going is never the reason you'll be happy you went. The surprises are always better than what we imagine we want to happen. Except for the surprises that wake you up at 4:00 a.m. with sweaty hands, trying to figure out how to delete a two sentence substack post. Happy Monday friends. Lots of love.
Finding What's True
I'm Sarah Davis and this is a podcast about telling the truth. It's about what you do when you look at your life and don't see much of your true "self" in it. It's about leaping, trusting, listening and laughing as you bump up against what's actually true for you instead of what you think "should be." These are adventures in truth telling my friends. It's a swirly compass but in the end, step by step, it guides us home.
